WE EXTEND OUR HEARTS AND HANDS
TO NEW YORK STATE COURT OFFICERS
DECEMBER 21, 2001
The Federal Court Clerks Association leadership and membership responded to the tragic events of September 11, 2001, in the way that they have done since 1922; they offer help, assistance and support in any way they can to federal court clerks, to the federal judiciary and to all friends who are in need. Thankfully, no federal court clerks were directly hurt as a result of the September 11 events, but of course, every one of us experienced loss; family, friends, neighbors…
We found out in September 2001, that the New York State Court Officers lost three Court Officers who responded to the calls for help on that fateful day, September 11, 2001. The FCCA family immediately reached out to the NYS Court Officers Association, and we offered our support. We collected donations from the federal court family across the country. We held a breakfast ceremony to honor the bravery and the selfless acts of three court officers and one New York City Police officer who, tragically, didn’t return home that horrible day. We also honored those officers who rushed to the Towers and who, thankfully, returned.

Please remember that the technology available to us in 2001, is not what is available today. Remember too, that our hearts and our goals in 2001, were just as strong then as they are now and will continue to be in the years to come.
