President's Message

The 90th Annual FCCA Conference held in Philadelphia, PA, on July 30 - August 2, 2018, was a huge success due in large part to the hard work of the FCCA Board and the many members who volunteered in one way or another throughout the conference. Please accept my sincere thanks and praise to all of you for a job well done. In addition, I would also like to thank the conference attendees for their enthusiasm, support, and willingness to get involved in FCCA sponsored activities.

On October 25, 2018, a category 5 Super Typhoon named "Yutu", directly hit Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands. This was the strongest storm to hit any part of the U.S. this year and is said to be the strongest storm on record to ever hit a U.S. territory. Sustained 178 mile an hour winds combined with flooding wrought catastrophic damage across Saipan, destroying houses, concrete structures and stripping areas of vegetation. Thankfully, there were no reports of major physical injuries however several court staff incurred substantial personal property damage or total losses. The District for the Northern Mariana Islands has requested, and the FCCA is pleased to offer, our Disaster Relief Program to assist members of the court family in a time of need.
To this end, the FCCA will be facilitating the collection of contributions for our court family members who have been affected by this horrific storm.

The Administrative Office was quick to respond and is assisting the district with operational concerns and has employed the services of the Judiciary Emergency Response Team. In an effort to help our fellow court staff resume operational normalcy and put their lives back together, our colleagues could use your support and friendship. As has been proven in the past, I am certain that we can count not only on our members but also on the entire court family, to step up and help those who were negatively impacted. Please access the link below if you are able to make a donation.
I sincerely thank you on behalf of those who are struggling to get through this disaster. With our collective aid and encouragement, I know they will make it through this difficult time. VIDEO
